Measham & District Community Library
Next month we will be open for business! We officially take over the running of the library on Monday 4th July 2016 although we will close for a few days for a revamp. Our launch event is on Saturday 9th July with the official ribbon cutting ceremony at 10am by special guest Alice Hine who designed our wonderful logo. Come along and see our new look! We will be open until 1pm with refreshments available, a tombola and entertainment. We don’t want to give too much away too early but some entertainment involves 2 wheels and some entertainment involves 4 legs!
Volunteer training will take place in the 2 weeks prior to the 4th i.e w/c 20th June & w/c 27th June when the library is normally closed for business. There will be daytime, evening and Saturday sessions. Places are limited so get in touch!
Thank you to all those that helped out or visited our stand at the Moira Canal Festival, hopefully it went a bit further to spread the word.
We have space in the library! If you know of any groups or clubs that need a meeting space or if you would like to start your own club, get in touch to discuss rates. We can open for you whenever you like!
We need your help with:
Prizes for the tombola at our launch. You can drop prizes off behind the counter in the library or at DG Graphics at the top of Measham High Street (by the mini roundabout)
The “summer reading challenge” – this runs in conjunction with the schools, throughout the school holidays.
Fundraising – we need volunteers with experience, or just enthusiasm, to join our team.
Craft items for the children. If you have any spare paper, glue, wool, pipe cleaners, water colour paints, brushes, toilet roll tubes, crayons, buttons or anything crafty at all, we’d be very grateful. Drop it in at the library.
Keep in touch!
